Selling my 2011 Tokai Vintage Series SG.
This is an incredible Japanese-made guitar with quality that rivals (if not surpasses) comparable Gibsons.
The model name was the SG-118 when it was built, but the same model now is the SG-124 apparently.
Some specs/details:
- Tokai PAF MK2 humbuckers (about 8.
9k ohms in the bridge and about 7.
9k ohms in the neck)
- African mahogany neck and body
- Indian rosewood fretboard
- Kluson-style tuners
- Very comfortable neck (C-shaped, not too thin but not super beefy either)
- Upgraded TonePros locking bridge
- Recently replaced toggle switch
- It only weighs about 7 pounds.
Super light.
- Includes a nice Gibson padded/reinforced gig bag
This guitar has been played a lot (because it’s awesome) and it shows that.
There’s several dings and scratches in the usual places (edges of body, headstock, back, etc.
), but absolutely no structural damage or anything that affects how it plays or sounds.
The frets have some slight wear beneath the plain strings on the first few frets, but still have plenty of life left.
It plays really nice with low action.
I purchased this from Mike and Mike’s Guitar Bar in Seattle a couple years ago, and it was one of my main players for most of the time I’ve had it.
Only selling because I just haven’t been playing it as much lately and I want to try some other gear.
I’ll probably regret selling it someday but here we are…
I’m open to trades for other electrics, acoustics, and low wattage tube amps.
Would prefer to sell though.
Let me know if you have any questions!
