5 years old (can live up to 20 years).

Chinchillas are quiet, nocturnal and super soft - they have the densest fur of all land mammals.
They are hypoallergenic, most people are not allergic to them.
They are very social, thriving on human interaction.
Chinchillas need temperatures of 65-75 F° to be comfortable - they can’t sweat.
They require dust baths a couple times per week to clean themselves in order to stay healthy.
Timothy hay, or other high quality hay, is the staple of their diet, with a small ration of Chinchilla pellets in addition.
